Hospital Birth Advocacy

I will meet you twice prior to your labour and birth, at a time and place convenient to you, at which time we can discuss your plans for the birth and any specific issues, hopes and expectations you have.

I will be on call for you from the end of the 37th week of pregnancy until such time as you go into labour, at which time I will attend you at home and when you feel ready I will accompany you into your chosen hospital.

Within the hospital setting your clinical care will be undertaken by the NHS. My role will be to support you and your birth partner constantly; giving you evidenced based information and sharing my clinical experience so that you are enabled to make your own choices. I will be your advocate at all times.

Following the birth I will be able to help you establish breastfeeding and will visit you at home twice to offer postnatal support.

If you wish for further postnatal visits they can be arranged for an additional fee of £100 per visit.

Postnatal Care Package

I offer full midwifery postnatal care in your own home (or in hospital), up to 10 visits over a 4 week period. I can offer you clinical experience and emotional support during your transition to early parenthood and to establishing lactation and successful breastfeeding. At four weeks, once you are confident, your care will be transferred to the Health Visitor.

I particularly enjoyed your teaching style and the fact the classes were informal, relaxed & fun. Let's hope my labour goes the same way! Wendy and Darren

Our antenatal classes with you helped prepare me in a calm, relaxed and confident way. The information you gave us access to, gave me so much determination and strength. Sue & Tim

Your advice undoubtedly provided us with the natural, intervention-free birth that we longed for. So thank you, Jane, so much, we feel very proud of ourselves but know that it would have been a very different experience without your expertise. Fiona, Dorian, Emilio & Rueben
